Cities Within a Radius Finder

Find every U.S. incorporated city, town, village, or Census Designated Place within a custom mile or kilometer radius of any starting location, sorted by straight-line distance from the center.

Enter a center city, 5-digit ZIP Code, coordinates, or street address and a radius in miles or kilometers.

How Cities and Towns Within a Radius Are Found

This tool identifies every U.S. incorporated municipality and Census Designated Place within your chosen mile or kilometer radius (up to 500 miles) by computing the spherical great-circle distance from your center point to the official U.S. Census Bureau internal point (INTPTLAT, INTPTLON) of all candidate places in overlapping 1°×1° latitude/longitude grid shards. Results are sorted in ascending order from closest to farthest and plotted on an interactive radius map.

Comprehensive U.S. Census Place Coverage

Many basic city-radius tools only include cities with populations above 10,000 or 50,000, leaving out thousands of smaller towns, boroughs, villages, and unincorporated suburbs. QuickWhere’s spatial index includes all 32,642 places published in the U.S. Census Bureau TIGERweb Places dataset across the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico:

How to Interpret Center-to-Centroid Distances

Each distance in the results table measures the straight-line great-circle distance from your starting point (whether a city center, 5-digit ZIP Code centroid, street address, or GPS coordinate) to the official Census internal point of each listed municipality. A large neighboring city whose outer boundary touches your radius circle may have its downtown internal point slightly outside your cutoff distance; increasing your search radius by 3 to 5 miles ensures edge-touching suburbs are included.
